Looking out for your Cat

Some of us have already experienced the worry and emotional pain that comes when a beloved cat goes missing, our cats are part of the family and as such we all want to do everything we can to keep them safe and well.

Keeping your cat up to date with vaccinations and regular check-ups goes without saying but what if your cat goes missing?

We at LostCatsBrighton
are strong ad
vocates of Microchipping

Cats often lose their collars or the name tags fall off and if this happens when a cat has gone astray, there is no way o
f  identifying  the cats owners.

We believe one of the first things all responsible cat owners should do is get their cats microchipped especially as it is such a simple procedure.

A microchip is no bigger than a grain of rice and is implanted quickly and simply. Like a normal injection it is inserted under the skin at the back of the neck and once there, it lasts a lifetime. The chip contains a unique code that identifies the pet and the owner. These details including your name and address and contact telephone numbers are held on a national central database.

Most vets, animal chatities and local authorities have a microchip reader. So if the unthinkable happens and your cat goes missing, once found and handed in, your cat will be scanned. Your contact details can then be looked up on the database and then it is just a case of calling you and returning your pet (Do remember that if you move house or change your number that you notify the central database as well)

We offer microchiiping at £10 per cat and will come to your home to do it

(Please note we can only offer this service within the Brighton & Hove area)
