A Tribute To 'TomTom'![]() Just over '10' years ago Ron went out to help friends try and find their missing cat and although they didn't find Fuzzie who they were looking for, Ron & his friends found 'Tom Tom' living in a tree in a graveyard and after several days of seeing him there and realising he was a stray, from that encounter and bringing him home to look after him, this charity's roots began. Ron set up this charity and over theyears has Reunited and Rehomed around 2,000 cats! And saved many from being 'put to sleep'and all this has been done purely through kind and generous donations and a lot of selfless hard work by Ron and his helpers. So for everyone who has lost a cat and had their cat reunited through LCB especially, Please, ask their reunited kitty to say a prayer for TomTom xxxxxx As I am sure you will all appreciate how Ron is feeling and those of us who had the pleasure of knowing 'TomTom' that this is a very sad time but it is best to try and remember the good things such as the the way you couldnt help giving in to one of his pleading looks for FOOD and just instantly falling in love with his gentle and passive laid back nature, how he loved a good head scratch and his highlights in the day was being ready to pounce into the fridge everytime the fridge door would be opened!!! Oooh he loved his food xxxx A good example of 'TomTom's' nature was in the way he never ever got ruffled about the amount of cats that came through his home, he was just a very contented, friendly cat who took everything in his stride. Sweet Alfie 16 February 2010 ![]() Today I picked up this little cat from Coastways in Brighton. I had received a call on Saturday to say that Alfie's owners had brought him in to the vets to have him put to sleep, due to a serious abcess on his right leg which had been left without treatment and now couldn't be treated. Thankfully the nurse called me and asked if I could help but that it would cost £300 Well, I couldn't see this poor little lad put to sleep so I gave the go ahead for them to amputate his leg and he is now recovering and learning to adapt in the care of my home. (You would think the vets would have gone half way with the cost, but no it would have been easier to put the poor little lad down !) Anyway, he is safe here with me now even though it has put a big hole in our bank, but I always think things will always work out. If the owners had got the poor lad to the vets earlier, maybe they could have saved the poor little lads leg, bless him. Ron ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Alfie's Update 20 March 2010 Alfie is now doing fine after loosing his front leg, He loves to play with his toys and has found his way doors, and can get in and out the cat flap, yesterday i found him half way up the tree in my garden, if you think you could give a Alfie a loving home please come and meet him, i would keep him but he likes to be on his own and often picks on the other cats |
Poorly Sammy 25 February 2010 ![]() Name : Sammy Sex M Age 3 Years Date Arrived : 30 January 2010 Details : Sammy was brought into us for rehoming as his owner had to move to a flat where there was no garden. Unfortunately our Sammy has been struck down with an illness which at present the vets are quite miffed about. The last 48 hours have been very much touch and go and he has been on a nasal gastric feed drip as well as receiving paincontrol, His body & head bloated to double the size due to air getting in under his skin, which we have been told is called subcutaneous emphysema he also has a growth/mass inside his mouth which they have said is beginning to get smaller but further tests will need to be carried out. So far the treatment stands at £350 and probably some more to come! but we cant just stand by and let this possibly otherwise healthy cat be put to sleep if he can be treated. Ron . ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Sammy's Update 20 March 2010 Sammy is now doing fine after his operation it cost us £1000 but he is such a loving cat we had to save him. He is a big softy at heart, but he will soon be ready for rehoming. At the moment he has made my bedroom his hideaway from the other house cats. I think Sam would like to be the only cat! If you think you could give Sammy the loving home he is looking for with a garden to play in, please come and meet him and you would soon fall in love with him. |
